April 4th 2013 young lives were changed forever with the discovery that our brother Cornelius "Neal" Rawls gained his heavenly pair of wings. This hurt over the years grew into a passion to help get our community kids the financial assistance to help steadily improve their academic pursuit. The Neal Rawls Book Scholarship principally target students enrolling in post-secondary education institutes.
2021 Recipient Cyrus Gibson
We're excited to announce Cyrus Gibson as our first recipient of the Neal Rawls Book Scholarship. Graduate of Vanguard High School, Cyrus is the first African-American swimmer from Marion County to compete at a D1 level as he will be attending Howard University this upcoming fall semester. Cyrus plans to major in political science in hopes to attend law school and become a civil rights attorney. We wish Cyrus nothing but absolute success and prosperity over his academic and athletic future.
